The plot of the dramatic mini-series “All the Light We Cannot See” unfolds at the end of World War II. Fate brings together a blind Frenchwoman, Marie Le Blanc, and a German, Werner Pfennig. Marie broadcasts on the radio, knowing that she could be executed for it, while Werner, a radio operator, refrains from reporting Marie’s transmissions containing encrypted messages for the American aviation bombing the city. For the mini-series, Sean Levy based it on the bestseller by Anthony Doerr, for which Doerr was awarded the Pulitzer Prize. The script was written by Steven Knight, the creator of “Peaky Blinders,” “Locke,” and co-author of “Taboo.”
